The best H.I.M. Damsyik’s comedy movies

An honest woman falls for a model agency scam, and is then brutally murdered by mindless thugs. She rises from the crypt as a Sundel Bolong (a mythological Indonesian revenge ghost) to exact vengeance in very gruesome and interesting ways. Can anyone stop her? …or at least give this poor soul some peace? Starring film icon, Suzzanna, this pic explodes off the screen like a rocket-powered comic book. It’s got it all, dark and moody atmosphere, a haunting score (infused with some synthpop disco numbers), gory ghostly killings, and some truly inventive cinematography. Kadir and Doyok open a coffee shop together. Kadir is a conservative person while Doyok is a womanizer so the former always tries to intervene in the latter’s affairs. Then, one of Doyok’s girls, Deasy, thinks that she is pregnant. Doyok panics and swears not to touch any girls within three months if she is proved not to be pregnant. But even before the three months are up, he goes out on a date with Anita. When Deasy is proved not to be pregnant, he finds a shaman to free him from the curse of his own vow. Kadir plays the shaman. So Doyok breaks up with Deasy and tries to get Anita. Later, they meet Betty, who does not want to be matched with Gigon,so she pretends to be a transgender man known as Benny. Secretly, Kadir knows who Benny is, and he falls for her. Finally, Kadir marries Benny aka Betty, and Doyok marries Anita.

Gobang finds his older sibling wounded when he returns to his village. Dying, the sibling reveals that Naning and his henchman, Jupri, are the culprits. To protect himself, Naning, hires mercenaries. Gobang asks his teacher at another village for advice. He is advised not to take revenge, especially since his lover, Jamilla, is Jupri’s daughter. After spending sometime with his adopted sibling, Nio, Gobang returns. He does not know that the mercenaries have murdered Nio’s father. The situation in the village deteriorates. A Dutch landlord, Van Hallen, murders his best friend. Naning’s mercenary kidnaps Jamilla. And libel is spread that Gobang is the kidnapper, leading to his arrest. Nio comes to avenge his father’s death and frees Gobang from jail. But Nio is killed by Jupri, who in turn, is killed by Gobang. Then Van Hallen is killed. Watched by Jamilla, Gobang takes Nio’s body away.

This is the story of Franck and Tina. Franck loves Tina, but she can't love him. The man of her life has just died and she's having a nervous breakdown. The Warkop DKI team - Dono, Kasino, Indro – returns with two female friends, Winny and Anita, to manage an ugly old hotel, and transform it into a proper hotel. The managing of the hotel becomes fodder for the comedy: a female guest who turns out to be the younger sibling of the room renter; Dono who really likes rats; a dead person in the hotel; a sleepwalking guest, etc.

Detective Kasino and two of his men, Dono and Indro (played by the Warkop Trio), fail to retrieve a jewel. But the owner, a Japanese man, does not care about it. They are given another task to protect Michiko, who is threatened with kidnap by criminals. In fact, the owner of the jewel wants to trick the insurance company. Michiko asks Dono, who protects her to run away with the jewel he is asked to keep.

In this sequel, Anita and her husband, Rio, are offered to act in a film. Kadir, their housekeeper, wants to join in. Their neighbour, Tati, and her housekeeper, Doyok, also want to join in. Rio, Anita, and Kadir pass the selection, after deceiving Tati and Doyok. Then a misunderstanding happens. Rio, Anita, and Kadir are misconstrued as having a fight when they are actually rehearsing a scene. Meanwhile Tati, who often uses the phone at Rio’s house to contact the director, is suspected of having an affair, leading to more comedy of errors. It seems to be an intention to criticize the film industry.

Dewi and Dewo decide to elope, as Dewi’s parents only want her to marry a rich man. Listening to the advice of their servant, Doyok, Dewi writes a letter to her parents that she and her husband have become rich. When her parents want to visit, Dewi and Dewo panic. So, Kadir, a housekeeper in an empty luxurious house, helps them. He agrees to lend them the house for two days before the new occupant arrives. Then Kadir acts as the husband while Dewo plays the housekeeper and Doyok the security guard. Their act is revealed when the new renter arrives but is barred from entering. Meanwhile, Dewi’s father finds the certificate of the house ownership.

Dono (Wahyu Sardono), Kasino (Kasino Hadiwibowo) and Indro (Indrojoyo Kusumo) get lost and end up on an island where the only occupants are beautiful young women, except for the tribal chief (Tile) and his three obese daughters. Dono and friends are forced to flee the island when the chief decides they have to marry his daughters. Back at home, Dono meets up with Merry (Fortunella). As usual, Dono and Kasino, along with Indro and Merry, Winny (Kiki Fatmala) and Nia (Sally Marcelina) end up on the beach surrounded by lovely young women in bikinis. The relationships of these three pairs are extremely volatile. Suddenly, as man dressed in Arab garb, accompanied by bodyguards, shows up claiming that Merry has been designated as his wife in an arranged marriage. Kasino defeats the bodyguards, who end up in the hospital. The comedic scenes then shift to the hospital and eventually back to the trio’s home again before the film’s end.

Coincidentally, Sugeng and Slamet both have twin children and gave both sets of twins the same names, Dorce and Donny. Both sets of twins then go separately to Jakarta, while Rudi, son of Koco, is sent to pick up Sugeng’s twins, but instead, picks up Slamet’s children, who have arrived first. Then Sugeng’s twins also go to Koco’s house where they meet the other pair of twins to create confusion and silliness. Finally Sugeng and a talent seeker arrive and the misunderstanding is resolved.

Dono, Kasino and Indro (the Warkop DKI comedy trio) are waiters at a restaurant owned by the parents of Yully, the girlfriend of Kasino. They are specially hired to compete with a rival restaurant owner, Soleh, who likes to sabotage Yully's father’s restaurant. Many slapstick antics such as catching a rat that falls from the attic, start the comedy rolling. Then the journalists and the police start watching Soleh, and that finally leads to his arrest.
