In the ruins of an amphitheatre just outside an unnamed Italian city lives Momo, a little girl of mysterious origin. She is remarkable in the neighbourhood because she has the extraordinary ability to listen — really listen. By simply being with people and listening to them, she can help them find answers to their problems, make up with each other, and think of fun games.

A teacher discovers his calling. Marco relocates to Palermo from Milan and takes a job teaching in a reform school while he waits for a high school position. He tries to understand and motivate his handful of students, reading them colloquial poetry, encouraging them to stand up for their rights, finding out about their histories. Natale, in for murder, enamoured of the Mafia, the King Rat within the group; Mery, a drag queen, arrested for assault when defending himself, in love with Mario and, in daylight, rejected by all; Pietro, illiterate, muscular, believing his destiny is set; the callow Claudio, vulnerable, learning to harden himself. Marco, 22 years old, lives in a Roma's suburb. His life goes on without any goal in an anonymous way. His only successful situation is his relationship with Zaira, a Somalian girl. While spending days uselessly, he meets Saverio, AKAS "The Fuhrer", head of a bunch of Nazi skins. He is fascinated by Saverio's world and tries all he can do to enter the fascist group. From that point on his life is deeply involved with the group activity. He tries to hide his relationship with Zaira, but the destiny is waiting for the final count.

1975: author and filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini's dead body, brutally beaten and ran over by his own car, lays in the outskirts of Rome. Charged with the murder, 17-year-old thug Pino Pelosi confesses having acted in self-defense during a paid sexual encounter gone awry. However, many inconsistencies start to undermine his version, suggesting that he didn't act alone. Was Pasolini also murdered for another reason?
