Øens liv forstyrres af Harry, en ung ingeniør der gør kur til Annemari. Ester er en drømmer. Hendes ønske er at blive forfatter og hun skriver digte i det skjulte. Hun glemmer ofte tid og sted, når hendes tanker går på langfart.
