Rettai Jadai Vayasu (Tamil: ரெட்டை ஜடை வயசு) is a 1997 Tamilcomedy film directed by C. Sivakumar featuring Ajith Kumar and Manthra in the leading roles. Goundamani, Senthil and Ponvannan among others play other pivotal roles in the film, which has music composed by Deva.

Janakaraj is a cook whose son falls in love with a rich girl. However, his uncle creates obstacles in their relationship and Janakaraj's son decides to go abroad to teach him a lesson.

The hero falls in love with a girl and learns music for her. The girl's house is destroyed in a cyclone and the hero believes the girl is dead. He goes to the city and marries another woman. When his first love is alive and comes searching for him, fun ensues.

The story is centered in a village where the parents of first cousins Sujatha (Sadha) and Raghu (Gopichand) decide that both will be married when they become adults. As a child, Sujatha's uncle gives her anklets, which she wears as she grows up. As they grow older, Raghu is caught smuggling money from his house. At school, Raghu beats up a kid for talking to Sujatha. They quarrel, and soon Raghu's family leaves for another village. Sujatha grows to be an attractive college girl, while the villain Raghu becomes a good-for-nothing character. On her way to college, Sujatha meets Ravi (Jayam Ravi), a poor but handsome, charming enthusiastic boy when he asked her to wear her anklets to college again, and soon after their quarrels they fall in love. . On the day of her marriage, Sujatha elopes with Ravi and the action hots up as they are chased by Raghu and his thugs.

Anand, a veterinarian, and Raja, a doctor, are brothers. Their father, Ramanathan, is a rich retired businessman. Vanaja and Girija lives with their mother, their father Shankar escaped when they were young because of Ramanathan. Vanaja and Girija decide to take revenge on Ramanathan by charming their sons.

Raja is a rich person who returns from America to India. He gets surprised when most of them call him with different name and later he sees another look alike , Quarter Govindan, jobless guy and wanted to earn money for his Sister's life. Raja requests another Govindan to pretend like him, so that he will be able to find his enemies.

A book that belongs to the Hindu god of death, Yama, accidentally drops to earth. This book can be used to kill or save any human's life by writing his/her name in one of the pages of the book. Gopi, a young man, gets a hold of the book and abuses its powers for his selfish needs. Chitragupta, Yama's assistant, misses a book which contains all the details of human beings. The book falls into a city in Tamil Nadu. Brahmadeva orders Yama to locate the book within one month. Chitragupta fears that if the book is seen by the human beings, chaos will happen.

Sivaramakrishnan (Prabhu), who works in a tailoring factory, makes a hobby out of teaching corrupt government workers a lesson by taking them to consumer court. Though his parents wish to see him married, he is vehemently against the idea. Meanwhile, Gayatri (Vijayalakshmi) gets Sivaramakrishnan's photo by mistake, which causes her to cancel her arranged marriage with a doctor (Anandraj). After several misunderstandings, Sivaramakrishnan and Gayatri get married. But then Gayatri learns of Sivaramakrishnan's previous marriage with his aunt's daughter Sumathi (Vindhya) when she, with her son, takes up residence opposite their house. A few coincidences that require suspension of disbelief are expected in movies intended to be comedies but Yes Madam moves along relying some fantastic coincidences that are just too tough to swallow.
