Since the early 1970's, England's Electric Light Orchestra has combined intricate, full orchestration with an underlying pop skeleton, becoming one of the most popular and influential "prog-rock" bands in history. After a long hiatus from touring the United States, ELO--led by Jeff Lynne--is filmed in a return to the American stage. Filmed at Los Angeles's CBS Television City, ZOOM TOUR LIVE has the group performing tracks like "State of Mind" and "10538 Overture" with their typical theatrics.

Electric Light Orchestra - Discovery

Electric Light Orchestra - Discovery
8/10
  • Genre: Music
  • Release: 23/11/1979
  • Character: Himself
Discovery is a music video album by the Electric Light Orchestra. Recorded in 1979 shortly after the completion of the Discovery studio album. The track listing is identical to the studio LP; each of the album's songs has its own corresponding promotional video. It received TV airings on The Blue Jean Network in 1980 among others, with releases on VHS in 1979, then later on the "Out of the Blue Tour" Live at Wembley/Discovery 1998 DVD/VHS. The video album was produced because Jeff Lynne refused to go on tour to promote the album as was customary but instead presented it in the relatively new video format. This helped launch the nascent long-form music video market. The song's videos marked the last appearance for the band's cellists. Tracklist: 1: "Shine a Little Love" 2: "Confusion" 3: "Need Her Love" 4: "The Diary of Horace Wimp" 5: "Last Train to London" 6: "Midnight Blue" 7: "On the Run" 8: "Wishing" 9: "Don't Bring Me Down"

Jeff Lynne's ELO Live at Hyde Park
8.7/10
  • Genre: Music
  • Release: 17/10/2014
  • Character: Himself - Keyboards, Synthesisers, Backing Vocals
On a sunny day in September 2014, Jeff Lynne, head honcho of 70s hit-making band ELO, took to the stage in London's Hyde Park and, with the help of his backing band and the strings of the BBC Concert Orchestra, brought to a close Radio 2's Live in Hyde Park annual festival. After an absence from the live stage for 28 years, this headline set by Jeff Lynne's ELO was a much-anticipated and talked-about event. In front of 50,000 people, Jeff Lynne delivered a rousing and crowd-pleasing string of the Electric Light Orchestra's chart-topping hits, including Livin' Thing, Sweet Talkin' Woman, Don't Bring Me Down, Mr Blue Sky, and Roll Over Beethoven. And there was also Jeff's touching tribute to his band buddies from Traveling Wilburys, in his performance of their 1988 hit Handle With Care.
