One of New Year's Eve evenings, Alexei makes a marriage proposal to the charming and sweet Katya. The girl in the seventh heaven from happiness. She had been waiting for this for a long time. But their bright future has one serious obstacle - a loving mother. Mom Katya Zoya Andreevna - a woman of a difficult character - takes this proposal as an encroachment on her private property and easily finds a way to upset the relationship of lovers. But her plan crashes.

"Mom!" says Yegor, looking for support. His parents Kolya and Anya don't pay attention to him. They are busy packing soviet junk and are going to finally take it out of the apartment to the summer cottage. Children are quarreling. The younger Yegor stole from the older Sofia a candy. But parents don't see the problem until they have to step over the threshold of morality.

Mitya is a war veteran who is trying to return to normal. He accidentally meets the lost bullmastiff called Roy. Relationships are complicated at first, but in the end, it is Roy who helps Mitya cope with his difficult past.

Many myths, stories and traditions are associated with the lime tree, going back to the Middle Ages, Celtic times and as far back as Ancient Greece. In Russia, the story goes, that on discovering his lover's infidelity, landowner Pavel Kazantsev was so heartbroken that he could not forgive Anastasia's disloyalty and buried her alive. He planted a lime tree to mark the spot where she lay, and years later villagers still go to the tree to ask Anastasia for help, particularly in affairs of the heart. Marina is the wife of a successful businessman also coincidentally called Pavel Kazantsev. One day, after a family quarrel, Pavel takes Marina to their country house where she discovers that Oleg has a lover - Anastasia. Marina soon learns about the legend of Anastasia's tree from the local villagers. The coincidence with names is disturbing, but a worse discovery is still to come.

The chairman of the collective farm, Yuri Sergeyevich, has no rest - and all because of the boys, whose main instigator is Petka, dreams of space flights are overwhelming. With his ideas, he gives a lot of trouble to adults, and they decide to entrust him with a "serious" business ...

The film is about the director’s mother, the movie actress Nina Antonova. Now she is 80. She has had hundreds of roles – big and small. It is a personal story about an honest and sad life, about self-sacrifice and freedom. Real fame as an actress came to her only once in her life. It was the leading role in the first Soviet colour TV series Varka’s Land. That was 45 years ago…
