The best Nan Yu’s romance movies

Samuel Le Bihan (”Brotherhood of the Wolf”) stars as Raphael Ramirez, an ex-boxing champ who now trains his young brother Manu (Yann Tregouet) to take up the mantle. Fate intervenes when Tony (Bounsy Luang Phinith), Raphael’s ex-rival, returns to town to wed his reluctant fianc’e Chinh (Nan Yu). As soon as Chinh and Raphael meet, sparks fly, and soon the two are sneaking out together. Of course this doesn’t sit well with either Tony or Chinh’s Chinese guardians, who have essentially sold her to Tony’s wealthy family. Adding to the mix is Chinh’s brother Noi (Samart Payakarun), who has come to France with the promise of a work permit to be supplied by Tony. That is, if the wedding takes place as planned.

Gigi and Marlene, two single women both in their late 20's, work at a bio-technology company, researching and developing medicine to suppress specific genes and observe their effects on the human body. Gigi is born with the "clean-freak" gene and her obsession with keeping things tidy causes problems in her relationships. Marlene, on the other hand, is born with the "fat gene" and needs to regularly take pills to maintain her weight. Marlene panics when she learns that her "anti-fat" pills will be taken off the market. Their personal problems coincide with romantic ones. Marlene grows frustrated maintaining her long-distance relationships via the Internet, and Gigi leaves her boyfriend when she discovers he's cheating on her.
