During their childhood, Hanna and Clarissa were best friends. They spent every vacation together in an old summer house on a small island. Shortly after Hanna’s 9th birthday, they suddenly lost touch and only meet again unexpectedly 25 years later. Hanna is now married, has a seven-year-old daughter and is the chief resident physician at the hospital where she reunites with Clarissa. Her old friend has been brought to the hospital ER for overdosing on sleeping pills. The two women pick up their friendship where they left off and spontaneously decide to spend a few days on the island, just like in the old days. When Hanna learns that Maria, a playmate of hers from the island’s village, disappeared as a child and was never seen or heard from again, she begins to search in the past. Something horrible must have happened on the island and they must have been involved.

Katharina and her son Stefan (16) live in a small town where everybody knows everybody. Stefan has been born with severe asthma. Katharina has ceased to count the nights that she has spent at his bed listening with fear, his breath. Their care and care have accompanied the child's growing up. Very deeply in Katharina is a doubt whether she really loves her child. Stefan's burgeoning sexuality finds its way in a disturbing way. He scares women during nightly journeys through the city, escorts prostitutes in front of a brothel, and watches couples in sex. When a young woman is found dead, the suspicion grows in Katharina that Stefan can be the culprit. He winds more and more out of Katharina's clasp and is increasingly aggressively seeking his own space. When a second woman is found murdered, Catherine's suspicion becomes evident. The relationship between mother and son implies a tragedy.

Two young people in their twenties, Lilian and André, decide to escape the dreary holiday season and go to the paradise that is supposed to be Spain. During their aimless journey, the couple naively places their trust in a shady guy named Sylvester. Although he is a little older than the two lovers, Sylvester also tries to give some semblance of meaning to his life by becoming acquainted with the hackneyed myths of our mediatized world: road movies, war games, romantic stories, drift into drugs. By agreeing to play roles based on clichés, the trio are gradually mired in a dangerous conflict over trust and confidence, love and life.
