Rework on Dong Chengpeng's previous award winning short "A Final Reunion". A comedy director has come up with an idea of breaking through his common filmmaking take by shooting a short film about how his grandmother would have spent on the New Year's day, crews recruited, the protagonist on set, everyone ready in the rural remote country where he was born and raised while out of everyone's expectation, the grandma passed. The movie has to go on, hence the narrative metamorphosizes from here... You can't always get what you want, as a storyteller, he leads the whole crew into another diverged yet moving journey.
Smog Journeys

Jia Zhangke's short film for Greenpeace East Asia depicts the effects of air pollution in northeast China, a region frequently blanketed in dangerous levels of air pollution. 'Smog Journeys' traces two families from two different backgrounds; one a mining family in Hebei province, and the other a trendy middle class family in Beijing. Both face a similar fate. Air pollution is one of China's most pressing environmental and health issues. Greenpeace calls for a shift from coal to clean renewable energy, as well as short term measures that better safeguard people's health.

She reminisces about the past, and goes back and forth between a fragmented reality and her dreams, until the day her mother leaves with Liu. She decides to take the path of escape, as her mom did, and return to her hometown. However she soon comes to realize that her hometown had disappeared one night several years ago.
