Life of Josutty narrates the story of the struggles and life lessons learned by Josutty(Dileep), a simple farmer living in a village in Kerala who migrates to New Zeland after marriage.
The story is about Sameer (Mammootty), a sweeper with the Alapuzha Municipality, who is always on tenterhooks because he is on the police radar whenever there is trouble or an act of terror occurs. Later it is revealed that his brother-in-law Shahjahan (Unni Mukundan) was suspected to be part of the terror team that had planted bombs in Bombay in 1993 and was later killed in an encounter with the Army in Andhra Pradesh.
The movie is based on the acclaimed novel K T N Kottur Ezhuthum Jeevithavum by T. P. Rajeevan, which is set in the backdrop of India's freedom struggle and depicts a magical history of a Kerala village.
Aami is a biopic based on the life of the renowned poet and author Kamala Das, who was fondly referred by her pet name Aami. The film mainly deals with two relationships the writer had - with the husband and after his demise, with a suitor from a different religion.
The film takes a deeper look at the social status of people who are forcefully converted to a different religious belief, and how they are looked down upon.
