A young girl named Kiki (Fuka Koshiba) must leave her home for a year to begin training in witchcraft. She leaves on her broom, but first says goodbye to her friends and family. Kiki then begins her new life with her trusted cat Jiji.

A young girl is sold into the red-light district Yoshiwara and is put under the care of the oiran (lead prostitute) of the Tamakiku house. The girl is rebellious, but the more experienced people in the household begin to think that she will be one day a great oiran, since an oiran needs not only beauty and talent, but she should also have the tenacity to maintain the position.

Ai (Anna Yamada) is a 3rd grade high school student. She is popular among students and she is also a honor student. She has a crush on her classmate Tatoe, who seems unnoticeable in the classroom. Since the 1st grade of high school, Ai has been attracted to him, with his mysterious aspect and smartness. One day, Ai happens to see Tatoe reading a letter. The sender of the letter is Miyuki, who suffers from diabetes. Ai knows that Tatoe and Miyuki are in a secret romantic relationship. Hiding her crush on Tatoe, Ai approaches Miyuki.

In Spring 1969, 21-year-old Megumi Yoshizumi goes to Wakamatsu Production. The company makes films popular with young people. Pink film director Koji Wakamatsu gathers there with young talented people who are all fascinated with movie making. When they are not making movies, they spend their time smoking, drinking alcohol, scouting for actresses and looking for material for their next film. When filming begins, everybody immerses themselves into the production and will do everything on the filming set from running, shouting to acting.

Two Japanese friends accidentally kill their boss and dump his remains in Black Fuji, a mountain/landfill hybrid. This leads to poor results when the chemicals of the landfill mix with the corpse (and many other corpses) to give rise to a zombie infestation in Tokyo.
