She has been referred to as the "Face of Women's MMA." Carano was formerly the third best 145 lb (66 kg) female fighter in the world, according to the Unified Women's MMA Rankings. Carano starred in the 2012 action film, Haywire, and 2013 film Fast & Furious 6.

EliteXC: Heat a mixed martial arts event held by EliteXC on October 4, 2008 in Sunrise, Florida at the Bank Atlantic Center. It was the third and final EliteXC show to be featured on CBS and marked the return of fighters Jake Shields, Gina Carano, and Kimbo Slice. A last minute injury to Ken Shamrock the day of the show made him pull out from the main even. Kimbo fight Seth Petruzelli instead.

Gina Carano in Training
First Soderbergh talks about seeing her fighting MMA on television and saying to himself, "Someone needs to fashion a movie around this girl." We then get to see the military training that Carano went through to make her a believable spy. The best parts of this feature are seeing how realistic the fight choreography got. In many instances they are really hitting each other, and Michael Fassbender particularly didn't use a stunt double. Some of the stuff they actually did seems pretty crazy.
