Kavitha’s best friend Lalitha (Richa Pallod), who is getting married, takes Kavitha to her house for the nuptial ceremony. As an emotional scene prior to this notes, this is the first time Kavitha has been away from her brother.

When they notice Unni drowning, Unni pretends to be deaf and mute so that he can fake his death and the insurance money reaches his family. Gangadharan however has a debt of his own, to a Punjabi family of money lenders who have settled in Kerala. He is forced to make Unni and Ramanan to work at their home until he can repay it. A series of interesting events follow after Unni meets Pooja (Mohini) at the house, who is deaf and mute.

They value friendship over everything else, even family, and for this reason, Chandu resists the advances of Aravindan's sister Uma (Divya Unni). When the trio take up a painter's job at a mansion, Aravindan falls in love with Padmini (Meena), who lives there and Padmini's jealous cousin makes him believe that his overtures are reciprocated. When the truth is revealed and Padmini rejects him outright, Chandu stands up for his friend and speaks ill of her. This makes her swear to separate the friends.

Kamala knows that Kunjunju is a flirt and so she tries to keep away from him. Deepu never tells about his love to Kamala or to Kunjunju, but Ashtamurthy knows about it. Kunjunju and Deepu falls apart after a fight and Ashtamurthy brings them together. The story takes a turn, when Sophy dies and the sisters are left alone
