Mika Waltari worked on the script, and after that he came up with the novel.

Not helping matters is a police department convinced that all Sammakos are bad, and the family itself, pressuring Alex to follow in their murky footsteps.

Armed with two rifles, Jari and Sakari take matters into their own hands.
