The film marked the debut of cartoonist and illustrator Christopher Nielsen as an animator. This is a crude cartoon with period humour depicting Oslo's East youth hanging around the Narvesen kiosks - hence the name 'Narver'.

One day Kurt discovers that society basically does not respect forklift operators very much. His wife is an ambitious architect. His neighbor is a medical doctor. Not even Kurt's own kids seem to be very happy about their father's occupation. Even if Kurt is popular among his colleagues and likes to drive a forklift, he quits his job, and starts climbing the social ladder. He wants to become a doctor, he wants to get rich, and he wants to be somebody. In the end, he even wants to become Prime Minister. But he does not have much success in any of his projects, and as time goes by, Kurt turns - vicious
Guggen: The Big Cheese

Guggen is not like the other rat-children. He hates the sewers and loves the fresh air on the roof, where he has emigrated. His mom is worried. What will become of this fresh-air-loving, guitar playing son of hers? She forces her husband, Roger Rotten to take Guggen on a father-and-son trip down the sewers to hunt for cheese. On their adventure they must conquer sewercats, gigantic spiders and alligators. At the end of the day, Roger must admit that he has learned as much of his son as Guggen of him.

Smith is searching for his guiding star. For centuries his expeditions have been in vain. But then one night, just as he's about to give up, the star emerges - on the night sky above his bed. But the festivities are cut short, when Smith discovers the star is just a reflection in his window. Reason tells Smith that the star doesn't really exist, but in his heart, Smith knows he's found what he was looking for.
